Leics/Edinburgh's "People’s Publicist" gripped by local council and Scottish elections in Leics and Edinburgh for film documentary continuous backing

A Leicester Voluntary PR Agency, the SSCOM GROUP’s “People Publicist” is gripped by Scottish Council and the Leics local council elections, come this Thursday May 3rd. As it’s in the middle of shooting a film documentary between Leics & Edinburgh, it’s banking particularly on the hopeful re-election of an MSP-(Member of the Scottish Parliament); the latest to be filmed (as well as a fellow MSP-both hopefully a great continuing support to this venture), and waits in vain to see what may come in Leics and Edinburgh.

The film is also incorporating the Leicester Caribbean Carnival, which began shooting on it’s cancelled day last August, and is set to do so on it’s return day of Saturday 4th August this year, looking at multi-culturalism and the contrasts and similarities between Leics and Edinburgh’s ethnic populations and their counterparts. However, the group has taken a surprise move to finish filming in Edinburgh by being in the process of organising an historic trip from Leicester for a 3 night stay between 31st August and 3 September this year, exclusively, as something not to be missed. This should be a learning curve for Leicester by showing Edinburgh having good support from the community, from all avenues. It will also host a major multi-intercultural competition, possibly never seen before in the UK, between the two distinctive cities, involving local people and plans to take as many people from Leics as possible, including the newly elected Lord Mayor of Leicester and the Deputy Lord Mayor of Leicester. The group says they will help to play a major part in the venture and help represent Leics alongside SSCOM GROUP.

Ayaz Sheikh, 36, Founder/MD of the Group said, “This venture has now come across a dramatic major development which will help us to achieve the logic of why this film is being made. It needs to concentrate more on inter-culturalism from multi-culturalism and look at what we all have in common, despite being from different religious beliefs/ethnic groups and so on. The link to Edinburgh stems from my unlikely pen-pal friendship with a Scottish white male, who has completely different interests to me, apart from Cricket. Since then, further links have been made in such a short space of time. I believe that finishing the film in Edinburgh will be spectacular, and historic, in terms of inter-culturalism in it’s finest. As far as the competition angle goes, we have selected and offered some locals/businesses and organisations the chance to be part of this venture. We hope to officially announce as to what’ll be involved soon. It certainly looks to be exciting stuff; a brand new meaning to dawn for two British cities as a first!

I’m also hoping that an MSP-(Member of the Scottish Parliament), Colin Fox, is re-elected in the forthcoming Scottish elections on May 3rd, as he’s officially invited me to attend the “May Day Parade” on Saturday 5th May in Edinburgh, occurring every 4 years after local elections. This will be included in filming but as per my recent filming interview with him, he welcomes our venture and likes the idea of our planned trip later this year, and the group will invite him alongside others to Leicester at some stage before the venture is over.

The group will also monitor closely the results of these elections to come, particularly to see if the Leaders of the City Councils in both cities are either re-elected or not. Whatever the outcome, it’s set to contact new and retained councillors in due course. “We have one or two surprises up our sleeve”, added Ayaz.

SSCOM GROUP said that the trippers should also get the chance to see the popular grand finale of the Bank of Scotland Fireworks Concert, performed against the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, which will close the Edinburgh Festival on Sunday 2nd September, and be special guests of the Edinburgh Mela, of which one of it’s directors recently, has offered a special invite to the people of Leics to join SSCOM GROUP, exclusively. The current Lord Mayor of Leicester, Coun.Paul Westley likes the idea of this invite and SSCOM GROUP is now waiting for the official “changeover” of the Mayor/Deputy Lord Mayor come next month.

The group is now looking for anyone from Leicester who can assist SSCOM GROUP in working on organising this trip asap, alongside existing help. It’s also looking for further locals from Edinburgh to help out filming and arranging “hospitality” for the final filming trip, as well as being interested in building unique links never anticipated.

Anyone interested in joining as a volunteer to help film/organise or book for the trip from Leics/take part in the film in Leics/Edinburgh or receive further information about the project/Edinburgh final filming trip, should either call: 07817 057078, e-mail: info@sscom-group.com  or log on to: www.sscom-group.com
