Frantic search for two students by Voluntary PR/Media
Agency for Leics ends as two ideals come forward to save the
day, after responding to a last minute newspaper article for the
LOROS fund-raiser tonight.
Due to a last minute student drop-out, a frantic search was launched
for two students-male and female, over the age of 18; to be confirmed
by the time the dreaded date of Friday 13th August was here. With
just 48 hours to go for the most chilling "Reality TV Documentary"
since Big Brother 5, set to be filmed-in the Harborough Theatre,
as well as being a Fund-raiser for Leics Hospice - LOROS. Entitled
"I'm a Scared Student….Get Me Out Of Here…Cause
It's Haunted!" it is set for Friday 13th to Saturday 14th
August-(7.30pm-7.30am), official confirmation was made by the
SSCOM-Group (Simon Shiekh Communications Group - a Voluntary PR/Media
Agency for Leics/Rutland) by 10pm-Thursday evening,12th August.
Being a resurrection of an event, 10 years on, of which it's Founder/MD
(Ayaz Sheikh-33) organised and took part in, when he was a student
at a Leicester College, Ayaz was under intense pressure to find
two suitable students. "This has been a harrowing week for
me, but I was determined to win this battle of finding someone
quick, and I'm now pleased and relieved. We were facing a race
against time to find two students-interested in the paranormal
and also willing to help us in a "Blair Witch Project"
style experiment, which will be part of the 12 hour lock up, with
other relevant contributions on the paranormal theme. We have
found the perfect choice in two ideal candidates, namely, Nick
Phillips (19, from Narborough, Leics), and his best friend, Leanne
Battista (19, from Lutterworth, Leics). We have managed to convince
them of a "surreal" experience and nothing to worry
about, but to help us make a "gripping" piece for our
documentary, of which they are very excited about, indeed!," he said.
Nick added by saying that, "Leanne and I were looking for
new jobs, when we stumbled upon this article and thought - is
it for real? We had the courage of our convictions and decided
to go for it. When we learnt from SSCOM-Group that we had been
selected (we were made to sweat for 4 hours yesterday, as we were
researching information set by SSCOM-Group), we both couldn't
believe it. It's unreal for me, but I think it'll sink in soon"
Leanne said, "This is totally unbelievable, to be the actual
focus of the "I'm a Scared Student" theme, is really
out of this world, especially as to what we've been told could
lie ahead as a result of this! I'm looking forward to it, immensely".
Ayaz adds further by, "I decided to organise a similar event,
but this time in a fascinating venue in the midst of Market Harborough
town itself, of which I’m looking forward to immensely!
It's been a roller coaster of a ride in conceiving the resurrection,
and actually arriving at event itself that I believe is set to
be a very interesting project/documentary, of which SSCOM-Group
hope to get on terrestrial TV, with an hour long programme.
I've got an interesting team, and am lucky to have taken on the
services for FREE of a Spectrologist, who studies the paranormal
as a hobby, namely Andrew Wright (49 from Leicester), he has been
acquainted with both Nick and Leanne, after they were confirmed
as the student participants. The other participant comes
from Desborough, Northants, namely Carol Slark (55). She is fascinated
by the paranormal, and decided to take part from a well known
franchise company; also managing to raise £237 sponsorship,
but hopefully more as time progresses."
As we were also in the process of negotiating with an ex reality
TV star, hoping to join us for a couple of hours for the recording,
she now cannot do so, but will be keeping in touch via SSCOM-Group,
for future consideration, but wishes us good luck. Spectrologist,
Andrew will also help SSCOM-Group to film a "gripping"
show, which also hopes to spring a few surprises. "I was
told by a colleague of mine about SSCOM.GROUP's article, so I
enquired and here I am. We also hope to stem an exclusive piece
about this-which could be a real coup for all concerned, as it's
set to create quite a bit of interest in the long run, watch this
space!", says Andrew. Carol added, "We're looking forward
to a surreal experience, but am glad that SSCOM-Group has managed
to get a spectrologist/parapsychologist such as Andrew, only 2
weeks to go from the event. We're more comfortable that an expert is
with us, in case we do see anything, as we would both be petrified
if we did. We wonder what the others might say about it, you'll
be the first to know!"
Local MP, Edward Garnier said, "I am delighted to give my
support to the LOROS fund raising event at Market Harborough Theatre
organised by Ayaz Sheikh and the SSCOM-Group. Having been to the
LOROS Hospice on the Groby Road, Leicester, I am only too well
aware of the valuable work that the LOROS medical staff and volunteers
do to alleviate the suffering of those with life-threatening diseases.
They get no help from the Government even though they are helping
reduce the burden on the NHS, so every penny they need has to
come from donations from the public. This event will go some way
to help LOROS in raising some much needed money and I trust it
will be a great success."
As of 4pm this afternoon, Ayaz, Nick and Leanne will be in Market
Harborough, to meet locals in the street and collect for LOROS,
we will be filming locals selected for the film, before the rest
of the team, and Senior Fund-raiser of LOROS-Adrian Walker, meet
up with the whole team. Local radio "live" link ups
are planned, as it's hoped the people of Leics can be "gripped"
by the whole episode.
However, one "extra" place is also up for grabs to
join us, and we anticipate that the person will take part, not for
the 12 hours, if he/she doesn't wish to do so, but can leave
earlier, and we hope to find him/her this afternoon,
right in Market Harborough itself. We are offering people the
chance to text SSCOM-Group on the night (07817 057 078) and send
their messages for the TV show recording (please make it "spooky"!),
or check out our Website: www.sscom-group.com
to see who's taking part (officially), we would welcome any comments.
Plus we hope to post news of our "experience" and more
pics soon.
