Northampton based East Midlands-UKIP MEP, Derek Clark (a rugby fan himself), has offered to contribute to a Leics based voluntary PR agency, the SSCOM GROUP-(Simon Shiekh Communications Group)’s ending of a long running filming of a documentary, examining the contrasts and similarities between Leics and Edinburgh’s ethnic populations. He is also set to be an exclusive guest at two respective charity functions/final filming events and would visit Edinburgh for the very first time-ever. An event at the Leicester Tigers Rugby Ground will now incorporate raising funds for the Matt Hampson Trust on Friday evening before June 20th. The Murrayfield event entitled, “The Big One!”, anticipated for June 2008, will also end up raising funds for the Trust. To split the proceeds, the group is now on the search for a relevant Edinburgh charity to benefit, exclusively, and would like to meet representatives from it during their next visit between 17th-19th April.
The rugby incorporation idea stemmed from the desire for the group to help the clubs to work with the local community (particularly with Edinburgh Rugby Club for the moment) and perhaps, introduce new people to the sport, particularly from the ethnic minorities. The film should also help a great deal to communicate this message. Derek is a natural choice and welcome participant to help the group to achieve this aim, as well as raising as much funds as possible for a former Tigers player, who’s been paralysed since March 2005.
In addition, the Polish community of Leics/Edinburgh and Northampton are set to be represented by a representative from the respective cities, to speak exclusively at the events.
The group is now hoping to "sell-out" the events on both sides of the border.
Politicians, members of the public, business leaders/other VIPs and local companies/organisations are all being invited to come together for these unique events and help celebrate the diversity/talent of an enriched community from both sides of the border. In return, helping to raise hundreds or even thousands of pounds for a worthy cause. Plus all attendees can take part in a competition between the East Midlands & Scotland at these planned events.
Ayaz Sheikh, Founder/MD of the Group, 37, from Leicester said, “I have now revised the Leicester Tigers event to incorporate raising funds, exclusively for the Matt Hampson Trust. It would be great for him to attend and also meet my special guest, MEP, Derek (Clark) and subsequently join us for the Murrayfield event. It also promises to be a memorable evening with a few surprises and twists, guaranteed. I also believe it's an unusual event (raising funds in relation to a former Rugby player) with it being part of continuing filming for the documentary on multi-culturalism. “The Big One!” at Murrayfield should be a memorable event as we’re looking to sell out a huge capacity, and get as many people as possible from Leics/Northants to go on a weekend trip for it in late June of this year and join others from Edinburgh and the rest of Scotland. I'm also hoping this event can spur other members of the ethnic minorities to engage in more charity work, locally, and potentially, with us for Leics/Edinburgh and Northants. I'm also hoping that an array of people from the business community & voluntary organisations come together with members of the public at these events & recognise what SSCOM GROUP has been/is about and it's future plans".
These exciting events will be the ideal opportunity for networking and hopefully, making new friends; it will certainly create a buzz as there will be an unexpected twist to be revealed! SSCOM GROUP will put everyone first and give real value for money.
Companies/Groups/Individuals (and/or any interested charities concerned) can grab this exciting opportunity by calling SSCOM GROUP on: 07817 057078 or e-mail info@sscom-group.com The advice is to act fast to reserve your space for two evenings to remember.
