Continuing filming of multiculturalism documentary between Leics and Edinburgh, to end on Saturday 26th April, 2008-in Leics

Series of events to mark 10th anniversary of voluntary PR agency/further interviews and two counterpart functions anticipated at respective Leics/Edinburgh Rugby Grounds & exclusive incorporation of East Midlands MEP-set to visit Edinburgh for the very first time, look set to contribute exclusively to the remainder of filming.

A Leics based voluntary PR agency, the SSCOM GROUP-(Simon Shiekh Communications Group) said today that it’s continuing filming of a documentary (since August 2006 in Leics) looking at multiculturalism between Leics & Edinburgh, is now set to end in Leics in April 2008. It aims to finish off in style with a series of events involving the people of Leics & Edinburgh, including spin-off projects from the past such as revising a one-off, FREE DJ service for any parties being held in March 2008 in the two cities (which it first kicked off proceedings for the voluntary initiative in March 1998), and eventually hosting two respective functions at the grounds of Rugby clubs: Murrayfield in Edinburgh (on the evening of Saturday 19th April) and the end of the filming at Leicester Tigers (on the evening of Saturday 26th April). East Midlands MEP-(Member of the European Parliament), Derek Clark, based in Northampton (and a rugby fan himself, who's never been to Scotland before, let alone Edinburgh) looks set to be part of this final week’s filming. (See news of our recent filming interview with Derek).

It is also hoped that a new and unique link is formed (for the better) between the two cities through the film, as it should play a major part in a new project, hoping to take place in Leics in July 2009.

Founder of the Group, 37 year old-Ayaz Sheikh from Leicester said, “It’s been a long-running filming of the documentary and we’ve captured some very interesting footage, from interviews with the local politicians to spontaneous filming in the two cities. I’m now relieved that we are able to confirm an official ending date of the filming, as we’ve had to make up for lost time. It’s also exciting because it’s all leading up to the 10th anniversary of when I first started it all, back in March 1998. The planned end of filming parties at the Rugby grounds, originally never anticipated will be exciting!"

The group also have a series of events planned between now and the 26th April, in addition to the two parties at the Rugby Grounds. It wants to revise, “I’m a Scared Student….Get Me Out Of Here!!”, which it hosted on Friday 13th August. 2004 in Leics. It now plans to host this in Leics or Edinburgh on Friday 13th June this year and hopes to secure the services of a parapsychologist who assisted it back then. It also has a major project planned in Leics for July 2009, of which it hopes the people of Edinburgh will benefit from as well as those here in Leics & the East Midlands.

The group also recently brushed off filming controversy in Edinburgh but now couldn’t be more excited in what’s to come re: the ending of the documentary and beyond.

SSCOM GROUP is now on the search for more locals from the two cities, to help extend a unique friendship link which is being hailed as a “real first for two British cities-ever!”, interested in learning not to be financially motivated as volunteers and to contribute in putting people first on local issues. There is a real treat for everyone, potentially involved.

Tickets (prices to be confirmed officially after 21st February), and/or any companies in the East Midlands/Edinburgh that wish to book a table for the respective events, can do so for the meantime. In addition, if anyone would like to reserve interest in the planned weekend trip to Edinburgh between Friday 18th April and Sunday 20th April, or for the same in Leicester between Friday 25th April to Sunday 27th April, are more than welcome.
