(Edinburgh Evening News article of:

Tuesday 18th July

in relation to this press release)

EXCLUSIVE!-Edinburgh to be part of major film documentary by Leics based PR/Media and Fund-Raising Management Agency-incorporating footage of forthcoming Edinburgh Fringe and more, over the coming year.

Recent local Leicester press reports/latest visit to Edinburgh where pen-pal of 7 years resides inspire Publicist to choose Edinburgh for film, create a new meaning, tourism/multi-culturalism wise.

A revised PR/Media & Fund-Raising Management Agency for Leics/Rutland-the SSCOM GROUP-(Simon Shiekh Communications Group) is now set to embark on a year long voluntary mission to help bring back a Leicester Caribbean Carnival for August 2007. As being a major event for the people of Leics, SSCOM GROUP is comparing the event with the Edinburgh Fringe, therefore, it's included the city of Edinburgh in a major film documentary with Leics, to be filmed over the coming year, taking in exclusive footage of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for this year, and more. Entitled, "Simon Shiekh: An Insider's Guide to PR-like you've never seen before", if you've ever wanted to be in a documentary about the city you live in, and not just any ordinary film, then this is your chance to shine alongside complete strangers, and perhaps someone you may have things in common with, in another city. The film hopes to be released by December 2007 on DVD/VHS. Depending on demand, it is planned to initially release 10 copies, and 5 each to be allocated to Leics and Edinburgh, respectively.

(Pictures/more news as to why Edinburgh's been chosen)

The Group is also on the search for people from Edinburgh to team up with Leics to help out on the year long project as volunteers, particularly when SSCOM GROUP visits during the latter part of the Edinburgh Festival-(Saturday 26th August to Saturday 2nd September). A joint PR Survey with Leics will be conducted during that week, and will also be a focus for the film. Having said that, the PR Survey is currently on the group website: www.sscom-group.com  to take part in.

The plot of this film, part fiction and fact will concentrate on Group Founder/MD, Ayaz Sheikh, 35, playing a dual-role as “Simon Shiekh”(who he created back in February 1991), and after Ayaz finds him in Edinburgh, tries to convince Simon in helping him out to bring the Leicester Caribbean Carnival back, and also experiment on tourism/multi-culturalism avenues between the two cities. Simon Shiekh then returns back to Leicester with Ayaz after his trip in late August/early September 2006 and work on the campaign for the rest of the year, including more planned trips to Edinburgh. The reason why Edinburgh has been chosen in this film is because of Simon's pen-pal of 7 years, Bruce (Thomson), 36 from Liberton in Edinburgh; a fellow cricket lover. With contrasting personalities and otherwise, different interests, this makes their friendship all the more challenging, multi-culturalism wise!

Ayaz said, "I've received feedback from VisitScotland who say that this certainly seems an interesting project and wish me the best of luck with it. I hope to keep them updated as time goes by. I've also written to all the Edinburgh MPs/MSPs and MEPs, and now await possible backing. Having said this, the venture is also backed by the Leader of Edinburgh City Council, Donald Anderson and Radio Forth, of who I'm hoping to include in this film. I'm also due to meet Edinburgh East MP-Gavin Strang during my visit. In addition, we’ll be offering a meal for two to be won in a restaurant of their choice in Edinburgh. I hope to do this via local media appeals or by direct promotion whilst I’m up there."

"In the meantime, I'm also planning a major "Carnival Fund-Raising Awareness Day" in Leics on Saturday 5th August; the day that we officially launch this year-long venture, and am interested in inviting people from Edinburgh for a weekend over to see what our kind of events are like".

A major competition between someone from Leics and Edinburgh is planned, and this should be completed by August 2007-again this will be part of the film.

Anyone interested in taking part in the film during the week SSCOM GROUP visits and/or throughout the coming year should either call: 07817 057078, log on to: www.sscom-group.com  e-mail: info@sscom-group.com or write asap to: SSCOM GROUP, PO BOX 5091, LEICESTER, LE4 7XX
