Leics based Voluntary PR agency attempting to forge new links with Edinburgh, frustrated in lack of understanding about filming on New Year's Eve in Edinburgh

Publicist says filming of documentary faces ruin-link to Edinburgh is waste as recent circumstances/attempt to gain support is on a knife-edge, & that those relevant are materialistic:

A Leics based voluntary PR agency, the SSCOM GROUP-(Simon Shiekh Communications Group)’s on-going filming for a documentary (since August 2006) looking at multi-culturalism between Leics & Edinburgh, now says it’s plans are in dis-array.

Controversy has sparked over a recent newspaper article inviting an Edinburgh local to win a ticket for the forthcoming Edinburgh Hogmanay Street Party/Concert in the Gardens. This stemmed from the group’s possible Media Accreditation from the publicity agency over-seeing the event. The offer stemmed after a meeting between the Founder of the Group and the agency/third party was refused whilst visiting Edinburgh recently. However, the group acknowledges that a ticket wasn’t allowed to be given away, but it would’ve bought one for the winner instead.

Now the filming of the documentary looks confined to the bin (after 14 months) as no Hogmanay filming will create lack of interest in the eventual product. In addition, further developments which were planned to be revealed at forthcoming press conferences, now look to set to be pointless.

"I'm disappointed that it has now potentially comes to this. Unless a miracle happens, I can't see the logic of carrying on. Trying to gain support both in Leicester today and in Edinburgh from tomorrow onwards seems worthless. I'll just come again to Edinburgh with no logic, whatsoever; my enthusiasm is waning. We are up against those forces who are materialistic. The Hogmanay filming would've been a major coup for this film", says Ayaz Sheikh-Founder of the Group.

The groups is surprised that it's not been taken seriously and are also surprised that a city such as Edinburgh which is supposed to be friendly, is now giving it the opposite notion of not being welcoming to them. It now faces a race against time and aims to give it it's best shot. They feel that if more people were involved with it, they'd have the extra manpower to make a real difference. They also have a potential major Edinburgh client which has recently wrote back to them, interested in working in association with the group, but they now fear that this will be a complete waste. The group isn't funded for the venture; it relies on Ayaz's wages to do the talking.

Anyone wishing to support the campaign on the 11th hour (from the two cities) for the group to be allowed to film on New Year’s Eve in Edinburgh, or can convince (as an Edinburgh local) the group that Edinburgh is friendly & worth continuing with, can contact on: 07817 057078, e-mail: info@sscom-group.com or log on to: www.sscom-group.com by Sunday 30th December.
